Diaphragm Tank is one of the main elements of foam fire protection systems and it is also a foam concentrate storage tank. This system is designed to mix the water used in fire fighting and foam concentrate in a certain ratio by means of a proportioner. The proportioner element ensures that the fire extinguishing process is more effective by proportioning the water and foam concentrate at the desired value. The system works by using fire water pressure; water enters between the outer wall of the tank and the diaphragm and compresses the diaphragm. This compression allows the foam concentrate stored in the diaphragm to be delivered to the proportioner through the concentrate outlet pipe.
3A Bladder Tanks are specially designed for 12.1 bar working pressure as standard. For special pressure requirements please contact 3A sales team.
Diaphragm Tanks are produced as vertical or horizontal in certain capacities according to the needs of the area of use and foam concentrate requirement. Vertical Diaphragm Tanks 140 – 7.500 l. Horizontal Diaphragm Tanks are produced in 140 – 15.000 l. ranges. Please refer to the 3A Diaphragm Tank document for capacity information.
While vertical models offer ideal solutions in case of limited space, horizontal models can be installed and used easily in larger areas. Both models offer effective fire suppression solutions as an indispensable part of fire safety systems.
